The ministry at this church conducted a monthly coffee-house night, where members and guests can stay after Bible study for beverages and conversation. Ministry leaders wanted a logo that suggested the warm, earthtone-centered theme of a coffee house. A special request was that the steam from the coffee wrap itself around the words "Deaf Java."

This logo was ultimately chosen because of its simplicity and color.
