| I depend heavily on computer hardware and software for daily work. The majority of my creative, design and production work is accomplished by computer, although I employ some traditional means for brainstorming and support tasks.
Computers
My platform, by choice, is Apple Macintosh. I currently employ a Macbook Pro, a Mac Pro and an iMac. All of my computers are currently running MacOS X 10.5 and 10.6,
Hardware
Additional hardware includes Canon desktop scanners, a Hewlett-Packard OfficeJet all-in-one, a Hewlett-Packard DesignJet 5500 and external hard drives by LaCie and Western Digital. Photos are taken with a Canon Digital Rebel.
Software
Our primary design and layout software includes Adobe Photoshop CS4, Adobe InDesign CS4, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Other design software we use includes Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe ImageReady CS2 and Adobe Golive CS2 and Dreamweaster for website design. For presentations I prefer Apple Keynote.
Video
My video editing is based on Apple Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Express, using the HDV and DV formats. Some simple video editing is also done in Apple iMovie. Recording gear includes JVC HDV cameras and Sony HDV decks.
Updates and Needs
How often do I update my toolbox? Constantly, within budget constraints.
