About the "Surround" Design
Very similar in concept to the "Swirl" design, here I've juxtaposed the more traditional and ancient cross shape with a very modern swirling shape. The modern shape suggests motion, growth, momentum. The cross suggests Christ and its more traditional appearance suggests foundation or groundedness. The outward expanse of the swirl suggests openness and transparency. The logo works well in all size applications.
Suggested Colors and Typefaces
Color selections (spot colors based on Pantone coated color selector): Pantone 374U and 158U. Process color options can be explored using the available Layered Photoshop File (PSD).
Typeface Used: Blair by ITC (Click here for purchasing information). The small caps typeface ITC Blair was designed by Jim Spiece in 1997. The basic forms are very much like those of the sans serif typefaces from the beginning of the 20th century. The font has extremely wide running figures which seem almost flattened, giving the font a linear, static feel. Like its cousin Copperplate Gothic, Blair is because of its small caps a popular font for business correspondence, but it is also often found in advertising with its elegant and modern look. Blair is best used for headlines or short texts.
