About the "River" Design
I find several geologic features to be prominent in Scripture--the idea of a mountain being a place to meet God is throughout the Testaments. So, too, are rivers. Jesus was baptized in a river. Rivers served as natural boundaries and meeting points. Today a river communicates personal journey, momentum and the idea of allowing a current you do not control to set your course. This logo is simple and communicates well at all size applications. I placed a cross on the hill in the distance to serve as the river's starting point, visually. After all, for the Christian, it will begins at the cross.
Suggested Colors and Typefaces
Color selections (spot colors based on Pantone coated color selector): Pantone 361C, 625U and Blue 72C. Process color options can be explored using the available Layered Photoshop File (PSD).
Typeface Used: Gentium by SIL International (Click here for download information). This attractive text font is slightly condensed, which I think gives it a friendly appearance. It has a rather tall x-height, which helps readability all all sizes. And there's another advantage to this font--it's free.
