About the "Open" Design
I tried with this design to suggest an open door to Christ, with a sqaure "building" shape with a broad opening, and a path leading to the cross. The logo works well in all size applications.
Suggested Colors and Typefaces
Color selections (spot colors based on Pantone coated color selector): Pantone 524U and 4665U. Process color options can be explored using the available Layered Photoshop File (PSD).
Typeface Used: Senator Tall by Emigre (Click here for purchasing information). This face comes in several variations and here I've used the serif version, to add a bit more modern appearance to the traditional logo. This typeface is unique and striking, but applicable for small headline and logo uses only because of its limited readability.
