About the "Harvest" Design
Freqently we see the non-Christian world referred to in Scripture as a "harvest field". Here the image of wheat conveys the mission of the church, while the green and blue ground and sky background element clearly place our activity at present on the earth. I began with a fall color scheme here, but changed it to a brighter look because I felt the more primary hues conveyed the health and activity of the church more positively. This logo works well in color, but I don't think communicates as effectively in black and white, or at smaller sizes.
Suggested Colors and Typefaces
Color selections (spot colors based on Pantone coated color selector): Pantone 382C, 3115C and 115C. Process color options can be explored using the available Layered Photoshop File (PSD).
Typeface Used: Palatino by Linotype (Click here for purchasing information). A wonderful mid-twentieth-century face, Palatino is equally at home as a text face and as a display face. I especially like the slightly curved tops and bottoms of the capital letter forms, which give the all-caps appearance of the font a graceful edge.
