About the "Growth" Design
The tree is a great symbol for Christian maturity. Most people see a tree as stable, long-lasting and constant. Strength is also conveyed, as well as life. This logo, I think, is more appropriate for a traditional church model (not ultra-contemporary). The logo works best at larger sizes where the detail can clearly be seen.
Suggested Colors and Typefaces
Color selections (spot colors based on Pantone coated color selector): Pantone 355C and 160C. Process color options can be explored using the available Layered Photoshop File (PSD).
Typeface Used: Senator by Emigre (Click here for purchasing information). This face comes in several variations and here I've used the serif version, to add a bit more modern appearance to the traditional logo. This typeface is unique and striking, but applicable for small headline and logo uses only because of its limited readability.
