About the "Flame" Design
Often God's presence in the Old Testament took on the form of a flame--the "burning bush" and pillar of fire, for instance. We see this repeated in the New Testament as the Holy Spirit came in the form of tongues of fire in Acts 2:3. Today we often use the idea of a flame or fire to describe the passion with which we serve God, and to describe the Gospel as a source of light for the world. This logo works well at all size applications.
Suggested Colors and Typefaces
Color selections (spot colors based on Pantone coated color selector): Pantone 1505U, 109U and 158U. Process color options can be explored using the available Layered Photoshop File (PSD).
Typeface Used: The Mix by Lucasfonts (Click here for purchasing information). This modern slab serif font was created in the mid 1990s. It's available in a broad range of weights. I like it because it has the uniform thickness characteristic of a classic san serif, which gives it a simplistic appearance, but also has selective serifs which give it additional readability and character.
