About the "Emblem" Design
An interesting take on the Greek (squared) cross. Here the logo forms more of an emblem with closed ends. The cross is hinted at, but the aged apperance gives the logo the look of a stamp, or identifying mark. Thus, the idea that we bear the identity of mark of Christ as His followers is the symbolism conveyed. The logo works well at all size applications, though smaller sizes may lose a bit of the antiqued bits in the logo itself.
Suggested Colors and Typefaces
Color selections (spot colors based on Pantone coated color selector): Pantone Relfex Blue C and Violet C. Process color options can be explored using the available Layered Photoshop File (PSD).
Typeface Used: Excelsior by Linotype (Click here for purchasing information). Before designing this font, C.H. Griffith consulted the results of a survey of optometrists regarding optimal legibility. Excelsior was then presented by Mergenthaler Linotype in 1931 and remains one of the most legible and popular fonts worldwide.
