About the "Cross" Design
This is my take on a straightforward cross design. I used a zig-zag shape embedded in the cross to give a modern take on woodgrain. Then, small extensions from the ends to signify nails. Finally, a square border to indicate both a crown of thorns of the sign Christ had hung over His head, "King of the Jews." Once created, I noticed that the pointed ends and overall shape and colors also gave the indication of a flower as well as a cross. The beauty and sadness in the same icon is an interesting combination.
