About the "Centered" Design
What I like most about this cross design is its absolute simplicity. The style here is the original Greek cross shape, with four equal points, first used around 1,500 BC. Later adopted as an early Christian symbol, it is also familiar to use as the style of the Red Cross logo, symbolizing medical and humanitarian aid or rescue. The logo works well at all sizes.
Suggested Colors and Typefaces
Color selections (spot colors based on Pantone uncoated color selector): Pantone Warm Gray 5U and 2717U. Process color options can be explored using the available Layered Photoshop File (PSD).
Typeface Used: Modula Serif by Emigre (Click here for purchasing information). This highly stylized face is interesting in that its serifs are equal in thickness to its strokes. I think this works well if the font is generously spaced. However, it must be used sparingly, as it does not read well as a text face.
