About the "Ancient" Design
This logo is an aged-style cross variety. The actual symbol used here is typically referred to as the Jerusalem cross, used by Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem, which existed for 200 years after the First Crusade. The four outer crosses originally represented the four Gospels, or the four directions that the Gospel spread from Jerusalem. It is an early Christian symbol that has been modernized here--the aged look of the background square is a current design trend.
Suggested Colors and Typefaces
Color selections (spot colors based on Pantone uncoated color selector): Pantone Warm Gray 8U and 234U. Process color options can be explored using the available Layered Photoshop File (PSD).
Typeface Used: Minister by Linotype (Click here for purchasing information). This is an old-style text face with pronouced serifs that I felt matched well with the aged design of the logo. Though my example used a purple tone for text, earth tones would also go well with the design.
